only when you click Up date Scene Materials
From Library in the Material/Map Browser (page
2–1412), and the scene contains materials that
havethesamenameasmaterialsinthelibrary.

To upda te a ma ter ia l in the s cene a nd repl ace it with
a material from the librar y:
In the Update Scene Materials dialog, select the
name of the material, and then click OK.
To leave a material in the scene unchanged, do one
of the fol lowi ng:
In the Update Scene Materials dialog, make
sure the name of the material is not selected,
and then click OK.

None—Deselects all material names in the list.

Materials create greater realism in a scene. A
material describes how an object reflects or
transmits light. You assign m aterials to indiv idual
objects or selec tion sets; a single scene can contain
many different materials.
Different materia ls have different uses.
