1058 Chapter 14: character studio
The crowd system needs Motion Flow mode to
be turned on to perform calculations for motion.
This is a con v enient wa y of turning on Motion
Flow mode for multiple bipeds.
Ta ke Multiple B ipeds out of M otion Flow—Take
the bipeds in the list out of Motion F low mo de.
Set Shared Moflow Leg Scale—Adapts the shared
motion flow to the scale of the biped currently
selected in the list. After this operation, the
selected biped will have the correct leg sca le,
although other bipeds may not.
Reset Wrong Scales—Just Legs: Reset the leg scale
only of the bipeds that have the wrong scale, so
that they adapt appropriately to the shared motion
flow.
Reset Wrong Scales—Ent i re Figur e: Resets the
entire figure structure of the bipeds that hav e the
wrongscale,tomatchthefigurestructureofthe
correctly scaled biped.
When you add the first biped to the shared motion
flow, the system adapts to the size of that biped.

marked in the list with "wrong scale" after it.

Options in the Transition Optimization dialog
allow you to select the range over which the
optimize algorithm will search for the transition.
It can search either the whole clip, or it can search
near the existing transition. You must specify the
preferred length of the optimized transition. The
softwarewilltrytogetasclosetothatlengthas
possible, still opting to give you the best length.
If it searches about the existing transition, you
must specify the number of frames about w hich it
w i ll search before and after the existing transition.
Optimized transitions compute for minimum
foot sliding over the range of the transition. This
method yields ver y high qua lity results.

Prefer r ed Transit ion Length—Specify the length of
the optimized transition.
Search Entire Clip—Searchtheentireclipforan
optimized transition star t f r ame.
Search Near Existing Transition—Create an
optimized transition near the existing transition.
You may search the range about the existing
transitions by setting before and after frame values.
