Poses
TheCopy/PasterolloutontheMotionpanel
provides controls to help you copy and paste
biped postures, poses, and tracks. A
posture
(page 3–1090)
is the rotation and position of any
selection of biped objects. A
pose (page 3–1090)
is
the rotation and position of all the objects in a
part icular biped. A
track (page 3–1117)
is the
animation f or any selection of biped parts. For
information on working with tracks, see
Copy ing
and Pasting Tracks (page 2–781)
.
You can create and store postures, poses, and tracks
in multiple buffers accessed by a drop-down list.
You can choose f rom that list and see a thumbnail
image associated with the selection, then paste that
selection onto the same biped or any other biped
inthescene. Youcanchoosebetweenposture,

The copy/paste process introduced in
previous versions of character studio has been
enhanced with the addition of
copy collections
(page 2–818)
. This feature acts as an additional
layer of organization, allowing your copied
postures, poses, and tracks to be grouped together
so you can transfer them between fi les within a
single session. After saving a collection, you can
load it into another scene either by replacing the
current collection or by appending yours to it. If
youchoosetoappend,thecollectionmaintains
the copy buffer structure.
Note: You must create a copy collection before you
can copy a biped’s posture, pose or track.
Using Pas te Post ure
The Paste Posture command is useful for copying
a posture in one frame of an animation to another
frame of the animation. Copy the posture, then
turn on Auto Key and move to another frame, then
paste the posture.
