the simulation. The Motion Mixer does not
generate motion for biped crowds.
A M otion Flow network can be used to
randomly generate different motion scripts for
oneormorebipeds.Thisfeatureisnotavailable
in the Motion Mixer.
Use the Motion Mixer w hen you want to create
a specific animation for an object from several
clips, or you want to specif y that some motions be
appliedonlytospecificbodyparts.Ifyouwantto
work with biped crowds or create random motion,
use Motion F low.
If youre creating a straight series of transitions
between motions, you can use either one.
However, the Motion Mixer has additional tools
for improving foot-based transitions.

selected, a

that biped. If a non-biped object is selected, the
Mixer opens empty.

Procedures
To access the M otion Mix er from the M otion panel:
1.
Select a biped.
2. Access the Motion panel.
3. On the
Biped Apps rollout (page 2–790)
,click
the Mixer button.
The Motion Mixer opens, and displays the
selected biped and two tracks. To learn about

.
Accessing the Mixer also turns on
Mixermodeforthebiped.Mixermodemust
be on for the biped in order to see the mixed
motion on the biped.
To display the Motion Mixer in a viewport:
1.
Activatetheviewportinwhichyouwantto
display the Motion Mixer.
2. Rig ht-click the viewport label, and choose
Views > Extended > Motion Mixer from the
pop-up menu.
Note: When the Motion Mixer is displayed
in a viewport, its menu bar is not accessible.
However, you can access each menu by
right-clicking the corresponding element in
the Mixer.
To remove the Motion Mixer fr om a viewpor t:
Right-click a blank area of the Motion Mixer
toolbar, and choose another view from the
selections under Views on the pop-up menu.
