You can float toolbars anywhere you like. You
can also drag the double bars at the left of the
toolbar to float the toolbar over the v iewport.

Hide—Turns off t he display of the selected user
int erface element. Once something is hidden,
you c an redisplay it using Show UI Element or
Show Toolbar on this menu.

Loa d Lay o ut —Loads a saved default, named,
Function Cur ve, Dope Sheet, or track bar
layout.
•
Save Layout—Saves your customized layout,
creating a new default layout. When you open
a new Track View, this saved layout will be
displayed.

Save Layout As—Saves you r customized
layoutwithanameyouchoose.Whenyou’ve
customized your layout, save it with an easily
recognizablename,thenyoucanreturnto
it whenever you choose. Use Lo ad layout to
retrieve a saved layout.

Show UI E lements —Toggles the display of Track
View user interface elements. F o r example, you
can hide or show the menu bar, scroll bars, the
cont roller and Key windows, and the t ime ruler.

Add Toolbar —Lets you display addit ional
toolbars that you can create using commands
the Customize User Interface pull down from
the main menu bar.
•
Delete Toolba r —Deletes the selected toolbar.
•
Show Toolbars—Lets you choose which toolbars
you want to display or hide.
Note: Some toolbars are hidden by default.
Motion Mixer

The Motion Mixer allows you to mix mot ions
foranybipedornon-bipedobjects.
The Motion Mixer takes its design from the world
ofaudio. Whenasongisrecordedinastudio,
each instrument is played and recorded separately.
Each recording is called a
track
.Thetracksare
then put together in a sound mixer so they play
simultaneously, or overlap one another. During
themixingprocess,themixeroperatorcanchange
the length or speed of a track, increase or reduce
volume, move a track to another place in the song,
orcauseatracktofadeinorout.
The Motion Mixer works in a similar way. For any
object, you can add multiple
tracks (page 3–1117)
to the mixer, each holding a separate series of
motion clips (
BIP files (page 3–1010)
, X AF files).
You can trim clips to use only part of a motion,
make the clips play slower or faster, or cre ate
transitions from one clip or set of clips to another.
