2.
Make sure Show Tangents is on. The

3. Highlight the key on the function curve.
Tangent handles appear on the highlighted
keyframe.
4. Mo ve one of the handles horizontally away
from its key.
Inter face
Show Tangents—Displays the tangents of
highlighted vertices, whereupon you can adjust
the tangents by dragging the handle endpoints.
By holding down the SHIFT key, you can edit the
tangents handles separately.
Lock Ta ngents
Track View > Curve Editor > Selec t keys on c urves. >
Curves: Track View Toolbar > Lock Tangents
Lock Tangents lets you manipulate hand les of
multiple vertices simultaneously. When Lock
Tangents is active, dragging a tangent handle
affects the handles of all highlighted keys. When
Lock Tangents is inactive, dragging a tangent
handleaffectsonlythathandle’skey.
Procedure
To dr ag discontinuous t angent handles:
1.
Highlight one or more keys in the Cur ve
Editor. Hold down the CTRL key to add to the
selection set.
2. ClickLockTangentstosetoneofthe
following modes:
• Off: Dragging a tangent handle affects only
thesinglekeydisplayingthehandle.
• On: Dragging a tangent handle affects both
handles of all selected keys.

Multiplier Cur ve
Track View > Curve Editor > Curves menu > Apply Ease
Curve or Apply M ultiplier Curve
Apply - Ease Curve and Apply - Multiplier Curve
(available from the Curves menu in the Curve
Editor)createaneasecurveormultipliercurve
track. These tracks let you modify or intensify an
existing animation track without changing the
original track.
• Amultipliercurveshiftsthevalueofthe
original track up or down.
Adjusting the multiplier curve increases or
decreases the “intensity” of the original tr ack.
• Aneasecurveshiftsthetimeoftheoriginal
track left or right.
Adjusting the ease curve changes time. The
value of the ease curve at a part icular frame
is a frame value from the orig inal track. For
example,iftheeasecurveis0atframe0and
10 at fr ame 10, the original track plays at its
original speed. If the ease curve value at frame
10 increases to 20, the original track plays to
frame 20 by f r ame 10: it has b een sped up by a
factor of two.
Once you apply an ease or multiplier curve, you
can edit its keys, ranges, and properties just like
any other animation track.
One use of ease and multiplier curves is to blend
between the effects of different controllers. This
