KeyTangencyToolbar
Set Tangents to Auto—Located on the Key
Tangents Track View toolbar, select keys then
click this button to set tangents to Auto Tangent
automatically. A flyout also lets you set in tangents
and out tangents individually to Auto. Selecting
the handles of an Auto tangent changes them to
custom, and makes them available for editing.
Set Tangents to CustomSets keys to custom
tangents. Select the key then click this button to
make the key handles available for editing . Set in
and out tangents individually using the flyout. Use
the SHIFT key to break continuity when using
handles.
Set Tangents to Fast—Setskeytangencyto
fastin,fastout,orbothinandout,dependingon
your choice from the flyout.
Set Tangents to SlowSetskeytangencyto
slowin,slowout,orbothinandout,depending
on your choice from the flyout.
Set Tangents to Step—Setskeytangencyto
stepin,stepout,orbothinandout,depending
on your choice from the flyout. U se step to freeze
motion from one key to the next.
Set Tangents to Linear—Sets key tangency to
linear in, linear out, or both in and out, depending
on your choice from the flyout.
Set Tangents to Smooth—Sets key t angency
to smooth. Use this to even up discontinuous
motion.

Lock S election—Locks the key selection.
Once you have created a select ion, turn this on a nd
you can’t inadvertently select something else. See

Snap Frames—Restricts key movement to
frames.Keysthataremovedwillalwayssnapto
frames when this is on. When this is off, you can
move a key so it falls between frames and b ecomes

Par ameter Out-of -Ra nge Cur ves—Use this to
repeatkeyframedmotionbeyondtherangeofthe
keys. Includes options for Loop, Ping Pong, Cycle,
orRepeatrelatively,aswellasconstantandlinear.

later create keys using Track View > Utilities >
Create Out-of-Range Ke ys. See

Show Keyable Icons—Displays an icon that
definesatrackaskeyableornot.Usethistoset
keys only on the tracks you want to keyframe.
Tur ning off a track in Track View also restricts
the movement in the view port. Red keys indicate
keyable tracks, black keys are not keyable. See
Keyable Icons (page 2–505)
