track such as S phere01: Z Position. > Key Info dialog >
Click Advanced.

The Key Info (Advanced) rollout or dialog lets you
control velocity in three ways:
You can specify the absolute velocity at a key
using the In/Out fields.
You can average velocity over a time period
using Normalize Time.
With cer tain controller t ypes, you can force
constant velocity from one component k ey to
the next using Constant Velocity.
If you are creating Path animation, you can force
constant velocity by placing a
Normalize Spline
modifier (page 1–739)
on the spline used as a path.

Procedure
To set normalize time for a k ey:
1.
Select an object and choose a key to Normalize.
YoucanusethearrowsintheKeyInfo(Basic)
rollout to step through Keyframes.
2. In the Key Info (Advanced) rollout, click
Normalize Time.
Thekeyismovedintimetoaveragethevelocity
through the ke y.

In/Out—TheInfieldistherateofchangeasthe
parameter approaches the key. The Out field is the
rate of change as the parameter leaves the key.
Thesefieldsareonlyactiveforkeysusingthe
Custom tangent type.
Thenumberinthefieldistherateofchange
expressed as parameter units per t ick. By
changingthetwovaluesforX,Y,andZyouare
