When the button turns red, it sets a
key which appears on the time ruler . The keys
are color coded to reflect which tracks are being
keyed.
If you don’t click Set K eys and you move to
another point in tim e, the pose is lost.
Tip: Tomovetheposetoanotherpointintime,
use the right mouse button to press and drag
the time slider. This lets you move to another
frame number w ithout losing the pose.
To animate a vertex using set k ey:
1.
Create an editable spline.
2. Select a vertex.
3. Turn on Se t Ke y mode.
4. Move the selected vertex.
5. Click the Set Keys button.
Now a controller has been assigned to the
vertex. From this point forward, you can
animate.
To set a key on every keyable track of an object:
1.
Select the object for w h ich you need to set keys.
2. On the Key Filters dialog, click All.
3. Click the Set Keys button or press K on the
keyboard.

To open the spinner right-click menu, right-click
theeditablefieldofananimatableparameter.
This menu provides options for cutting , copying,
and pasting values, wires, and animation tracks
between various object parameters. It also allows
you to show the parameter in
Track View (page
2–483)
or in the
Parameter Wiring dialog (p age
2–395)
.
Interfa ce
With the exceptions of Undo and Select All, each
of the following commands takes effect on the
parameter you rig ht-click. It’s not necessary to
first click in the value field.
Undo—Reverses the effect of the last action.
CutRemoves highlighted text to b e pasted
elsewhere.
Co pyCopies highlighted text to be pasted
elsewhere.
Pas t e—Inserts cut or copied text into the editable
field.
Delete—Removes highlighted text.
Select All—Hig h lights al l text w ithin the active
editable field.
Note: In order for Select All to work, the text cursor
must b e active in the field that you right-click to
