To select a photometric web f ile:
1.
On the Web P arameters rollout for a selected
light, click the Web File button.
The Open A Photometric Web dialog is
displayed.
2. Navigate to the location of the file you want to
import. Select the file and click Open.
If you are modifying a light, the light’s icon
is replaced by a w ireframe outline of t he
photometric web. If you are creating a light, the
photometric web icon appears when you drag
your cursor in the viewpor t to create the light.
Note: You c a n o b t a i n p h o t o m e t r i c w e b f i l e s
from various lighting manufacturers. You can
use the Content Browser to dow n load IES files
oruseIESfilesavailableintheLightscape
Libraries provided with Lightscape software.
To change the orientation of the photometric web:
• UsetherotationspinnerstochangetheX,Y,or
Z rotation o r the photo metric web.
Note: These parameters cannot be animated.
To change the direction of a light, you can also
use t he Rotation transform or for target point
lights, move the light’s target point.
Tip: To s e e t h e shape of the p h o tom et r i c w e b,
you can make the light icon larger by increasing
the Non Scaling Object size in Tools menu >
Options dialog > Viewports panel > Viewport

Inter face
Web File—Selects an IES file to use as a photometric
web. The default web is a diffuse distribution
shining from one edge.
XRotation—Rotates the photometric web about the
Xaxis.Thecenterofrotationisthephotometric
center of the web. Range=-180 deg rees to 180
degrees.
YRotation—Rotates the photometric web about the
Y axis. The center of rotation is the photometric
center of the web. Range=-180 deg rees to 180
degrees.
ZRotation—Rotates the photometric web about the
Z axis. The center of rotation is the photometric
center of the web. Range=-180 deg rees to 180
degrees.

Shadows
Advanced Ray-traced shadows are similar to
ray-traced shadows (p age 3–1094)

they give you more control over shadow
