3-31. Performance Standards. To be returned to service, a
PADS must:

Pass the test of table 3-1 with no malfunction.
Have no visually observed physical defects which
may prevent normal operation or allow water to enter

Have no corrosion inside any units which were
opened.
Have no defective gaskets in any units which were
opened.
Have covers torqued to the specified values on any
units which were opened.
Have a smooth, shiny mirror finish on at least 80
percent of the porro prism surface area.
