INSTALLATION OF AN ANTI-FLAP KIT
1: Erect The Awning
Roll out the awning as normal but do not lock o knurled knobs on raer ends. Reverse the ratchet
lever and allow the awning to roll in and pull down in the pull straps unl the awning rotaon is
halted by the ratchet.
Check that the pull strap sail track
is set at the 2.00 or 3.00 o’clock
posion. You may need to have a
couple of aempts to locate the
correct posion.
Once located, retain the pressure
on the roller by physically moving
the pressure from the pull straps
locaon to the frameset locaon,
ghten the knurled knob on the top
raer arm.
Move to the other end and pull
down on the top of the frameset
so the fabric is ght and then lock o the other
knurled knob.
This step is most important. If the awning is
le in the roll out posion when erected, wind
can cause the roller to rotate out further which
loosens the tension on the roof fabric and allows
it to pool when it rains. This will occur even if the
AFK is used.
Leave the awning ratchet mechanism in roll
away mode. The top raer arms along with the
AFK’s will prevent the awning from rolling in.
(The addion of the Aussie Traveller Curved Roof
Raers also assist in roll away prevenon as well
as ensuring the fabric retains its tension and aids
rain water runo.)
Once the awning is erected and the pull strap sail
track is in the 2.00 - 3.00 o’clock posion, the AFK
can be ed. This eliminates the possibility of a
guer forming in the fabric/roller join.
