Step 1 - Configuring the Card for Root or Leaf Operation
Set the DIP switches on the PCI-SB card for Root or Leaf mode operation, as
shown in Figure 19.

Set the PCI-SB card to Root bridge if it is installed in the device containing the pri-
mary PCI bus.
Set the PCI-SB card to Leaf if it is installed in a remote device containing the sec-
ondary PCI bus or expansion bus.

Use these settings to con-
figure a PCI-SB as Root. If
the PCI-SB card is
installed in the device con-
taining the primary PCI
bus, configure it as a Root.
