Connecting ISDN End Devices Directly to the Internal S

ISDN End Devices
A COMpact S
0
module can be used to extend the PBX by adding 1 internal S
0
port. A COMpact
ISDN module can be used to extend the PBX by adding an internal S
0
port or an internal U
P0
port.
An internal S
0
port is suitable for connecting one of the following terminal devices:
• COMfortel 1100/1500/2500/2500 AB system telephone (as of firmware version 4.0B)
• COMfortel DECT system telephone
• ISDN telephone in compliance with the Euro ISDN Standard (DSS1)
• ISDN PC controller in compliance with the Euro ISDN Standard (DSS1)
Important: The power consumption of the end devices on an S
0
port may
total a maximum of 2.5 W.
An internal U
P0
port is suitable for connecting one of the following terminal devices:
• COMfortel 1100/1500/2500/2500 AB system telephone (as of firmware version 4.0B)
All other devices can only be connected to the U
P0
port via a U
P0
/S
0
adapter. It provides a S
0
port with two Western sockets by converting 2-wire to 4-wire. It is suitable for connecting the
following terminal devices:
• COMfortel DECT 900/900C system telephone
• ISDN telephone in compliance with the Euro ISDN Standard (DSS1)
• ISDN PC controller in compliance with the Euro ISDN Standard (DSS1)
Important: The power consumption of the end devices on a U
P0
port may
total a maximum of 2.5 W.
Connecting ISDN End Devices Directly to the Internal S

Port
Requirements:
– Cover panel is removed
– Internal S
0
port (only provided at the optionally available COMpact S
0
module or COMpact
ISDN module)
– Terminators switched on at the internal S
0
port
– Short distances between the devices (maximum length of the connection cable used: 10 m)
