Switching X.31 On/Off

Using X.31 on ISDN, for example, electronic cash reading devices can be operated on the
internal S
0
port. The data are mainly exchanged with the remote station over the D-channel
(X.25), and the B-channels remain available for telephone calls and faxes. In most cases, this
service must be enabled by the network provider beforehand.
Switching X.31 On/Off
Switching this on/off can be done as follows:
• Via the configuration manager
Requirements:
– Internal and external S
0
port (only COMpact 3000 ISDN with COMpact S
0
module or
COMpact ISDN module available as an option)
– The protocol on the internal S
0
bus (X.25/X.31) acquired and enabled in the Upgrade Center
– Configuration manager, opened with sufficient authorization
– Expert view (click )
1. Open the page CONFIGURATION > External numbers.
2. In the list field at the top, select the ISDN connection in question.
A page opens for configuring the ISDN connection.
3. Open the page ISDN connection > Name and functions.
4. Select or clear the X.31 check box under Special connection functions.
