Warning: Do not connect the calibrated
microphone to the 1/Mic input of the
Sound Equalizer at this time. Doing so
before completing the Product Selection
screen as part of the MultEQ Pro
application (page 19) will cause
microphone feedback at levels that
could damage the speakers
USB Connection
Any of the laptop’s USB
ports may be used for this
connection.
The USB connection gives
the laptop control over the
Sound Equalizer during
MultEQ Pro calibration.
Provide enough slack for
the USB cable so that it
will not suddenly
disconnect during MultEQ
Pro calibration. Accidental
USB disruption/
disconnection will likely
require MultEQ Pro be
restarted.
The supplied USB cable is
10 ft. long. Substitution of
other USB cable is
acceptable for a longer
connection (the longest
USB cables available are
15 ft).
If performing multi-room
or multi-floor installations,
an active extension or hub
may be used to extend
USB length. An Ethernet
Extender may be used as
a bridge between two USB
cables so that the laptop
maintains connection to
the Sound Equalizer while
moving from room to
room.
Ethernet extenders are
available in lengths up to
150 ft. Please contact
Audyssey for a list of
recommended Ethernet
Extenders.
Mini-XLR-to-RCA Adapter
During the MultEQ Pro
calibration you will be
required to use the
included mini-XLR-to-RCA
adapter (E) to connect the
mic preamplifier’s LINE
OUT output to the Sound
Equalizer for the room
measurements (see
Measurement on page 24).
