MAINTAIN A STILL PHOTOGRAPHY EDITING AND PROCESSING SYSTEM (SPEPS)

Conditions: In a tactical or garrison environment, given a SPEPS (to include but not limited to an
automated data processor with CD-ROM, video monitor, flatbed scanner, 35-mm slide scanner, modem,
communications interfaces, color printer, writable CD, selected software, and accessories),
manufacturers' manuals, DA Pam 738-750, DA Form 314, DA Form 2404, DA Form 2407, bench stock,
lens tissue, soft cloth, paper towels, clean water, mild liquid cleaner, vacuum, and electronic equipment
tool kit.
Standards: The standards are met when the SPEPS is serviced and fully operational.
Performance Measures Results
1. Visually inspect for missing parts or obvious damage. P F
2. Clean equipment as needed. P F
a. Wipe equipment free of dust and dirt with a soft cloth and mild cleaner. P F
b. Vacuum dust from air vents. P F
c. Clean air filters with clean water and air dry before reinstalling. P F
3. Inspect cables for cracks or loose wires; allow enough room for cables to hang or lay
without bending or crimping. Ensure all cables are connected.

4. Operations check by editing and processing digital imagery. P F
5. Troubleshoot problems by referring to the manufacturers' manuals first. P F
6. Complete the necessary maintenance forms. P F
a. Annotate service performed on DD Form 314. P F
b. Document uncorrected faults and parts required on DA Form 2404; date and initial
the form if no problem exists.

c. Initiate a DA Form 2407 for any fault requiring corrective maintenance. P F
Evaluation Guidance: Score the soldier a GO if all steps are passed (P). Score the soldier a NO-GO if
any step is failed (F). If the soldier fails any step, show what was done wrong and how to do it correctly.
Have the soldier practice until he can correctly perform the task.
