MAINTAIN A BENCH STOCK

Conditions: Equipped with a maintenance section's bench stock in a controlled area, the latest inventory
report, authorized stock level requirements, parts index, DA Form 2064, DA Forms 2765, DA Forms 3318,
and DA Forms 2404.
Standards: The standards are met when all shortcomings found during the inventory of bench stock are
identified and recorded, excess is turned in, and requests for reordering parts are submitted.
Performance Measures Results
1. Review listing of authorized repair parts. P F
2. Check that stock locations and quantities on-hand match bench stock records. P F
3. Reorder replenishment repair parts as they are issued, unless no longer authorized or
required.

4. Secure all repair parts in a controlled area. P F
a. Use appropriate security measures. P F
b. Protect repair parts from damage. P F
c. Control partial parts received to prevent pilferage. P F
5. Promptly turn in excess parts. P F
6. Maintain a legible and accurate document register. Also ensure that the commander or
designated representative initials the document register for high priority requests.

7. Reconcile the document register with the current status received from the supporting
supply activity (SSA).

8. Receive and pick up parts. P F
9. Stock parts received. P F
10. Update the Parts Index. P F
Evaluation Guidance: Score the soldier a GO if all steps are passed (P). Score the soldier a NO-GO if
any step is failed (F). If the soldier fails any step, show what was done wrong and how to do it correctly.
Have the soldier practice until he can correctly perform the task.
