Connecting a CD player and a CD
recorder/MD recorder
When you connect yotlr CD player via analog and digital
connection, priority is given to the signal input a_ the DIGITAL
INPUT jack¸
To make a digi[al connection to a component other d_an d_e
del_ult component assigned to each DIGITAL INDUT jack,
selecl _he corl_sponding setting in "INPUT ASSIGNMENT"
(see page 68)
Make sure that this unit and other 1

Connecting a multi-format player or an external decoder
This unit is equipped with 6 additional input jacks (FRONT L/R. SURROUND L/R, ('ENTER and SUBWOOFER) for
discrete multi-channel input from a multi-format player, external decoder or sound processor. Connect the output jacks
on your multi-tk_rmat player or external decoder to the MULTI CH INPUT jacks. Be sure to match the left and right
output jacks to the left and right input jacks lor the front and surround channels.
When you select the componenl connected to Ille MULTI CH INPUT jacks as II_e inpul somce (see page 34). Ihis unit automalically
turns off the digital sound field processor, and you cannot selecl sound field programs¸
