Reprogramming a Single
Homelink Button
Gate Operator/
Canadian Programming
Note: If programming a
garage door opener or gate
operator, it
is advised to
unplug the device during the
"cycling"
process to pre ve nt
possible overheating.
To program a previously trained button, follow these st eps :

Pres s and hold the desire d H ome link button.
DO NO T release the button.
The i nd icator light will illumi nate gre e n. After 20
seconds it will begin to flash oran ge. The Home li nk
button
can be released at this point. Proceed with
"Progra mming a New Homeli nk Button" step 3.

If you do not complete the pr ogra mming of a new
devi
ce to the button, it will re vert to the pr evious ly
stored programming.
Canadian ra dio-frequency laws req u ire transmitter remote sig na ls

ut " (or quit) afte r several se con ds of tr ansmissi on, whi ch
may not be long enough for Homel ink to pick up the sign al
during programming. Similar to this Canadian law, some U .S.
gate operators a re designed to 't ime-out" in the same manner.
The indicator LED on the hand-held remote will go off when the
device times out, indicating that it h
as fin ished tran sm ittin g.

step 3 with the following:
While the Homelink indicator light is
fl as hing orange, pr ess and
release ('cycle") your device's hand-held remote every two
seconds until the Homelink i nd icator light changes from o range
to gree n. You may now stop cycling the hand -held remote
button.
Proceed with "Pro gramming a New Home link Button" step 4 to
complete.
