Faults Corrective measures
Display is dark − Caused by direct sunlight, allow handset to cool
down.
The caller number display
(CLIP) does not function
− The caller number display function is an optional
service offered by telephone network providers.
The caller number appears in the display if the ser-
vice is offered by your telephone network provider.
Contact your network provider for further informa-
tion.
− The caller has suppressed the transmission of their
phone number.
The LED on the ans-
wering machine flashes
− Set the time on the answering machine (refer to
Chapter 17.2).
The LED on the

flashes rapidly
− The answering machine memory is full.
Delete messages from the memory.
The answering machine
does not take calls
− Ensure that the answering machine is connected
correctly and switched on.
− Check whether the answering machine memory is
full. Delete messages from the memory, if neces-
sary.
No memo can be recorded − Check whether a memo has already been recor-
ded. Delete the old memo, if possible.
− Check whether the answering machine memory is
full. Delete messages from the memory, if neces-
sary.
No remote access func-
tions can be executed
− Check that the correct security code has been ent-
ered for the remote access.
− The telephone to be used for remote access must
be set to tone dialling (DTMF).
