17.10.6 Free of charge pre−remote access
The free of charge pre−remote access function can be used to determine whether
messages have been left on your answering machine without accruing any telephone
charges.
To do this, set the Delay taking calls" function to toll−saver". Refer to Chapter 17.5.3.
When you subsequently call the answering machine while underway, the answering
machine responds as follows:
S If your call is taken after 2 rings, there are new messages on the answering
machine.
S If no new messages have been recorded, the call is not taken after 2 rings.
Replace the receiver immediately because the call will be taken after 4
rings. No telephone charges are necessary because no connection has
been made.
