17.5.2 Setting the volume on the answering machine
If the volume of the answering machine is too high or low when playing back
messages or listening−in to incoming calls, it can be adjusted to one of 5 levels.

17.5.3 Delay taking the call
It is possible to set the number of times the telephone should ring before the
answering machine takes the calls. It can be set to between 2 and 7 rings. In addition,
the toll−saver" setting is available to use the free pre−remote access function (refer to
Chapter 17.10.6).

17.5.4 Message alert signal for recorded messages
As soon as an incoming message or a memo has been recorded, an acoustic signal
is issued once a minute to indicate this. As a result, you know immediately if a
message or memo has been recorded in your absence.

17.5.5 Listening−in to an incoming message
Incoming calls can be listened to as they are being recorded on the answering
machine without actually taking the call.

17.6 Recording, checking or deleting outgoing messages
The answering machine is provided with two, pre−recorded outgoing messages. The
preset outgoing message, after which a message can be left, can be replaced by one
of your own. If no other outgoing message is recorded, the standard outgoing
message is played automatically. When the answering machine memory is full, it
automatically reverts to a standard outgoing message explaining to the caller that
messages cannot be left. This outgoing message cannot be altered.
17.6.1 Recording an outgoing message
The outgoing message recorded can be maximally 40 seconds long.

17.6.3 Deleting your own outgoing message and reverting to the standard
message
After deleting your own outgoing message, the standard message is automatically
reactivated.
