11 Multiple Handsets
Up to four more handsets can be registered on the base station. Each handset can
only be registered on one base station at any particular time. If you register the
handset on a new base station, it is automatically deregistered from the old one.
Note: The standardised GAP Standard enables AUDIOLINE handsets as well as
handsets from other manufacturers to be integrated in the telephone
system. In the same way, an AUDIOLINE handset can be registered on
base stations from other manufacturers as long as they comply with the
GAP Standard.
The following options are available if two handsets are used:
S Internal calls between the handsets (intercom),
S External calls can be transferred from the handset,
S Incoming external calls are received on all handsets.
Note: If one handset is currently using the outside line, no further external call is
possible.
GAP: Generic Access Profile = Standard for the interoperation of handsets and base
stations from other manufacturers.
11.1 Registering and deregistering handsets
11.1.1 Registering DECT 3800 handsets
1. Press the
B button on the handset.
2. Press the
B and E buttons to select the SETTINGS
menu.
3. Confirm by pressing the
F button.
4. Press the
B and E buttons to select the REGISTER
menu.
5. Confirm by pressing the
F button.
6. Press the
K button on the base station for 4
seconds until two acoustic signals are issued.
Register the new handset on the base station within
90 seconds.
7. Enter the base station PIN code using the digit keys (default setting: 0000).
8. Confirm by pressing the
F button.
9. The base s tation is then searched for and an acoustic signal is issued after
a few seconds. The handset is now registered and can be used for internal
and external calls.
