8.5.4 Switching on remotely

Imagine that you have left your office or your house and have forgotten to switch

on your answering machine. Using the remote access facility, you can switch on

the answering machine from another telephone.

1. Call your number and let it ring until your call is answered (ca. 9 times).

2. Press the * button while your greeting message is playing and then enter

your personal PIN code by pressing the appropriate numbers on the

number pad of the remote control or telephone. Entry of the correct code

will be confirmed with a signal tone.

3. Press h and your answering machine will be switched on.

4. Now put the receiver down or make use of further remote access

functions.

8.5.5 Special setting "Greeting only"

Normally the caller will be able to leave a message following your greeting. If you

do not want the caller to be able to leave a message, you can switch to the

"Greeting only" mode. The call will be terminated by your answering machine

immediately after your greeting. Remember that in this case you must change your

greeting message.
