10 Multiple Handsets
Up to five handsets can be registered on the base station. Each handset
can only be registered on one base station at any particular time.
The two handsets have the internal numbers 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5. This internal
number is shown on the right−hand side of the display. Incoming calls are
signalled on all handsets. If the other handset is already using the external
line, the indicator light on the receiver will illuminate on the other handsets.
In this case, it is not possible to make a further external call.
Note: The standardised GAP Standard enables AUDIOLINE handsets
and even those from other manufacturers to be integrated in the
telephone system. In the same way, a AUDIOLINE handset can
be registered on base stations from other manufacturers as long
as they comply with the GAP Standard.
The following options are available if several handsets are used:
S Internal calls between the handsets (intercom),
S External calls can be transferred between the handsets.
S Incoming external calls are received on all handsets.
S Conference calls between two handset users and one external
caller.
10.1 Internal calls (intercom function)
As soon as several handsets are registered on the base station, they can
be used free of charge for internal calls.
1. Press the I button and dial the number of the handset
required, e.g. 2".
2. The call can be taken on the handset called.
Note: If an external call is received during an internal call, short
acoustic signals are issued and the caller’s number appears in
the display, if available.
3. End the internal call by pressing the button.
4. Press the button again to take the external call.
