1. Reference Mic – This pull-down menu allows you to select the
microphone, so its known properties will be used in the SPL calcu-
lations. Select “Other” if your microphone is not listed.
Chapter 8: The Display: SPL Meter
2. Speed – Select from Fast, Medium, and Slow, to suit your prefer-
ence and the sound material you are measuring.
3. Hold – Press this to hold the current reading in the display.
4. SPL Display – This is the measured SPL display in dB.
