5.9 Maintenance
The Maintenance menu is used for the following operations:
Locking and unlocking the gateway (refer to Section 5.9.1 on page 122)
Saving the gateway's configuration (refer to Section 5.9.2 on page 124)
Resetting the gateway (refer to Section 5.9.3 on page 125)
5.9.1 Locking and Unlocking the Gateway
The Lock and Unlock options allow you to lock the IPmedia 2000 so that it does not accept
any new incoming calls. This is beneficial when, for example, you are uploading new
software files to the gateway and you don't want any traffic to interfere with the process.
¾ To lock the IPmedia 2000, take these 4 steps:
1. Open the ‘Maintenance Actions' screen (Maintenance menu); the ‘Maintenance
Actions' screen is displayed.

2. Under the LOCK / UNLOCK group, from the 'Graceful Option' drop-down list, select
one of the following options:
'Yes': The gateway is 'locked' only after the user-defined time in the 'Lock
Timeout' field (refer to Step 3) expires or no more active traffic exists (the earliest
thereof). In addition, no new traffic is accepted.
'No': The gateway is "locked" regardless of traffic. Any existing traffic is
terminated immediately.
