CHOOSING A LOCA TION
It is always best to plan th e com plete ins talla t ion prior to a tte mp tin g to ins t all any
product. The routing of wires, power connections and mounting locati ons should
be planned firs t . As with any car stereo in stallation , all work performed should be
checked thoroughly and carefully prior to th e operations of th e system .
Th
e placement of your Audiobahn speakers wi thin your vehicle will greatly affect
th e overall performance of your audio system . Every vehicle is different, so
ins t alla t ion into particular locations of th e vehicle may net be possible without
modifications. Factory provided lo c a tion s are generally preferable due to ease of
ins t alla t ion. In all ca
ses speakers should be placed in a loc ation free of obstruction
by body panels, window cranks, storage compartments or anything th a t may
hinder th e speakers performance. Avoid areas that do not provide a flat, sturdy
mount i ng surface.
Audiobahn speakers are designed to fit in almost any fa c t or y lo cation . Again, if at
al
l pos s ible it is recommended th a t you use a fa c t o r y location. This applies most l y
to later model vehicles. For those earlier models th a t do net have fa c t o r y loc ations
or are limited to fr o nt lo cations it is recommended that you choose an area with
sufficient air space.
If you a llow an in
s uff ic ien t amount of air space, th e speaker may not reproduce
low frequencies very well. It is recommended to mount th e speakers in door
panels, kick panels, rear decks etc. Ideally th e speaker should be mounted where
it will be in an enclosed airspace, allowin g fo r extended bass response.
