GENERAL Congratulations on your purchase of the Audio Note CD 2.1x/II CD player. Audio Note is highly critical of the digital medium as presented by compact disc; we sincerely hope that you too will find this player breaks free from the 'digital mould' that we are all so accustomed to, and so open a new window on your CD collection. Please read over this manual carefully in order to obtain the best possible performance and longevity from your CD player.
LOADING THE DISC • Turn the power on. • Press the OPEN/CLOSE button and load a disc on the tray Be sure to load a disc with the tray fully opened. The label side of a disc should be facing upwards with the disc correctly seated in the tray. • Press the OPEN/CLOSE button again. The disc tray will close. Within a few seconds, the number of tracks and the total playing time of the disc will appear on the display. • Press the OPEN/CLOSE button to unload a disc.
VIA REMOTE CONTROL (batteries are not included) Batteries suitable for the CD 2.1x/II remote control are two of 1.5V UM-3/R6/AA type and are not included. They should be bought separately and fitted into the remote control before operating it. Please ensure that the batteries are inserted correctly and polarity is right. OPEN/CLOSE - Operates in the same way as the front panel button. Press this button to open or close the tray. PLAY/PAUSE ►▐▐ - Press this button to play a disc.
PROGRAMMING You may select a number of tracks and store them in the memory in the desired sequence. The player will then play back only your selection of tracks in the selected order. 1 2 3 4 5 6 Press the MEMORY button. 'MEMORY' will appear on the display. Press the CD SKIP or numbered buttons - To select the desired track to be stored. Press the MEMORY button - The track is now stored in the memory. Repeat steps 2 and 3 to complete programming. Press PLAY to listen to the programmed tracks.
TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE Refer to the relevant sections in the manual for remedy suggestions. SYMPTOM CHECK POINT No sound from the CD player. Playback does not start. CD is not selected on the amplifier. The disc is dirty. The disc is upside down. The player is in the PAUSE mode. Moisture condensation has caused the unit to operate incorrectly. There is no disc loaded or the disc is loaded incorrectly. The disc is dirty. The disc is upside down. The player is in the PROGRAM or RANDOM mode.
