Microtuning
Note: as with real strings instruments, microtuning is applied by the finger position on the
strings. Open strings are not affected by the microtuning settings! Choose the appropriate
String Tuning (“Str. Tuning” parameter in Options page) and Alternate Fingering (“Alt.Fing”
on the main GUI) in order to play the desired microtuned scales.
Our approach to microtuning yields maximal flexibility, providing for user-defined scales, where the
extent of detuning (range +100/-100 cents) can be precisely set for each note using a series of sliders.
These settings can be saved along with the instrument presets.
Detuning can be applied selectively to individual notes, in real time, using the mouse or key switches.
The default preset is a detuning of -50 cents:
By default, detuning is set, but not yet applied to any given note. To apply detuning, you can choose
between two methods:
1. Using the mouse in the instrument GUI
2. Making changes as you go using key switches
