5.1
Its multiple surround and stereo
inputs make the ASP510 ideally suited
for use in DVD authoring and CD
mastering, with permanent connections
for both applications being possible.
5.1 and Stereo source tapes can be
replayed via the ASP510 BUS INPUT
connector. These sources can then be
individually monitored using the
SURROUND and STEREO RECORD source
selection switches.
The outputs for the DVD authoring
workstation and CD mastering suite are
taken from the SURROUND A and
STEREO A RECORD ports respectively
(with the Stereo RECORD SOURCE set to
BUS). The feeds to the DVD workstation
can be routed through stand-alone
Dolby Digital codecs if these are not
integrated within the workstation.
The processed returns from the two
workstations can be monitored using
the SURROUND and STEREO PLAY A
source selection switches.
Full compatibility checks can be
made at any time using the ASP510
MONITOR FORMAT selection switches.
Test discs may be checked using DVD
and CD players connected to the
SURROUND and STEREO PLAY B inputs
respectively.
During DVD authoring, it is also possible
to output a simple stereo downmix and
record this using the STEREO B RECORD
output with the ASP510 STEREO
RECORD SOURCE set to DOWNMIX.
