High-beam assist
improves the driver’s visibility and ensures a more
relaxed drive thanks to the extra comfort and
convenience. Depending on the traffic situation, the
high beam is automatically switched on or off.
Working within system limits, automatically detects
the headlights of oncoming traffic, the rear lights of
other road users and light sources in built-up areas.
In conjunction with the optional night vision assistant,
the connected vehicle functions allow the marking light
for detected pedestrians for enhanced safety when
driving at night.
LED headlights
allow precise, near-daylight illumination of the road;
combines LED dipped beam, high beam, daytime
running lights, motorway light, indicators and static
turning light as well as an all-weather light; including
headlight cleaning system; motorway light which
automatically increases headlight range from a speed
of approximately 110 km/h; all-weather light to reduce
the risk of the driver being dazzled when visibility is
poor; striking light pattern in day and night design
configurations; low energy consumption and long
service life
Audi Matrix LED headlights
This innovative technology combines a camera system
with LED light sources and precision optics for highly
adaptive light distribution. The system blanks out light
that would otherwise shine directly on oncoming vehicles
or vehicles in front but continues to fully illuminate all
the other areas in between and alongside. The front
lighting thus adapts dynamically, providing the driver
with a much wider visual range. The conventional
division between dipped and high beam is dispensed
with. Familiar convenience functions such as the static
turning light, all-weather light, junction light, travel
mode, which uses GPS data to switch between right-
and left-hand drive modes are integrated into the LED
technology. The LEDs of the Audi Matrix LED headlights
also perform the dynamic cornering light functions.
Using vehicle support based on navigation data, it starts
responding shortly before the steering wheel is turned.
The marking light cooperates with the optional night
vision assistant. If pedestrians are detected, individual
LEDs flash briefly three times in succession to mark
out the pedestrians clearly from their surroundings.
Distinctive features include the crisp lighting pattern,
the LED daytime running lights and the dynamic
indicators in the headlights and rear lights.
