MMI® Radio

Digital Audio Broadcasting
Better sound quality according to DAB standard,
including DAB+ and DMB audio through the reception
of digitally broadcast radio stations¹. Display of
additional information accompanying the programme
(depending on provision by the respective radio
station) in the form of a slide show (e.g. artist and
title) and other programme-independent data services
(e.g. weather and traffic). In conjunction with MMI
navigation plus with MMI touch: permanent search for
alternative reception frequencies of the set station
via a second DAB tuner and simultaneous updating of
the station list
Audi sound system
Impressive sound thanks to 6-channel amplifier with
a total output of 180 watts and 10 loudspeakers
(A3 Cabriolet with total output of 140 watts and
9 loudspeakers) including a centre speaker in the
dashboard and, for the A3 Saloon/S3 Saloon,
a subwoofer in the parcel shelf
Bang & Olufsen Sound System
Fascinating surround sound reproduction via
15-channel amplifier with a total output of 705 watts
(A3 Cabriolet with 13-channel amplifier with a total
output of 625 watts) as well as 14 – or for the
A3 Cabriolet, 13 –
high-performance loudspeakers,
including a centre speaker in the dashboard. The
A3 Saloon/S3 Saloon includes a subwoofer in the
parcel shelf and the A3 Cabriolet includes two kickbass
loudspeakers with an output of 100 watts each.
Perfect design experience thanks to the exclusive
loudspeaker covers with aluminium applications and
the LED lighting accentuating the front woofers.
Continuous adaptation of the sound to driving and
background noises determined by microphone.
Reproduction of 5.1 surround sound possible in
conjunction with MMI navigation plus with MMI touch
and integrated DVD drive.
Audi music interface²
Portable media players such as Apple iPod, Apple
iPhone (music functionality) as well as USB storage
media and MP3 players may be used with special
adapter cables available from Audi Genuine
Accessories. Audi music interface is located in the
centre console. Operated via MMI or – if ordered –
a multifunction leather steering wheel (for the
A3 Saloon/S3 Saloon with voice control). (Part

with MMI touch)

Depending on the device used, the representation of
cover arts and video functions is possible as an added
function in conjunction with Apple iPhone and more
recent Apple iPod generations².
Navigation package
contains the features of the connectivity package
as well as the navigation function and data on an
SD card³. Maps are shown on an electrically extending
5.8-inch colour display. Operated via MMI radio or –
if ordered – a multifunction leather steering wheel
(for the A3 Saloon/S3 Saloon with voice control)
