Safety steering column
increases the safety potential of the seat belt and
airbag
Seat belts
3-point inertia reel seat belts for all seats, pyrotechnic
seat belt tensioners, seat belt height adjustment in
the front; belt force limiters on all outer seats
Seat belt reminder
for all seats; an acoustic and visual warning signal
reminds occupants in the front to fasten their seat
belts,
a visual warning signal indicates when seat
belts have been undone in the rear.
Warning and control lights
for, among others: airbag, ABS, ESC/ASR, parking
brake on, EDL electronics, high beam, indicators, brake
system, engine oil pressure, luggage compartment lid,
engine electrics, preheater system (TDI)

when driving away and full braking action whilst
driving by means of action on all 4 wheels
Progressive steering
enhances the driving dynamics and driving comfort
thanks to more direct steering characteristics (e.g. on
winding country roads or when turning) as well as a
reduced steering effort (e.g. when parking and
manoeuvring). Impressive driving characteristics
thanks to a variable steering ratio based on the
steering angle and speed-sensitive steering
assistance. Can be set via Audi drive selec

(auto/comfort/dynamic).
Audi drive select
allows vehicle characteristics to be set in the available
modes: auto, comfort, dynamic, efficiency as well as –
in conjunction with MMI radio or MMI navigation plus
with MMI touch – individually by adjusting the power
steering, accelerator and gear change characteristics
(for S tronic)* and additional optional equipment, such
as Audi magnetic ride, adaptive cruise control. The
efficiency mode shifts specifically selected systems to
a consumption-improved basic setting.
Brake system
with Antilock Brake System (ABS), Electronic Brake
Force Distribution (EBD); hydraulic brake assist with
2-stage brake booster function (Dual Rate), disc
brakes at front and rear, ventilated at front
Brake callipers
painted red, with S3 logo at the front; support the
dynamic character of the vehicle by giving the brake
system a sportier appearance
Secondary collision brake assist
Following an accident, uncontrolled continued vehicle
motion is prevented in certain situations. In these
cases secondary collisions can be avoided.
