tiptronic

The 6-speed tiptronic
®
transmission system is a form of automatic transmission,
standard on all Audi RS 6 models. The technology incorporates DSP – or the Dynamic
Shift Programme – which aligns and converts the engine’s high power and torque into
both sporty performance and operating convenience, with crisp, fast gear changes,
reduced weight and optimised gear-shifting.
In the ‘D’ (Drive) and ‘S’ (Sport) programmes, the advanced electronics used in
tiptronic
®
respond efficiently to every driver input, helping to prevent unwanted
gear-changes. The driver can override automatic mode by moving the gear lever
into a tiptronic
®
shift-gate, enabling spontaneous gear-changing for a sportier
driving style.
