Engine Petrol A 4.2-litre V8 FSI® engine is one innovation that sets the RS 5 Cabriolet apart – and keeps it there. That’s thanks to our Le Mans-winning fuel-injection technology, which provides enhancements to fuel efficiency, power and torque. But this unit is capable of more than just delivering raw power; it’s also adept at using it. Launch control combines both braking and acceleration to give you the quickest possible start, taking the RS 5 Cabriolet from 0 to 62mph in just 4.9 seconds.
Transmission S tronic® Driving is all about thinking ahead, which is just what the S tronic® dual-clutch transmission does. It works almost as two separate systems, one engaging the odd-numbered and the other the even-numbered gears. So when you’re accelerating in second, it has third gear waiting for you. And once you make the switch, it’s already thinking about fourth. With two clutches working together, you can change gears almost instantly while experiencing smooth, uninterrupted power.
Technology quattro® with Sports differential The Audi RS 5 Cabriolet features the very latest generation of quattro® permanent all-wheel-drive – the exclusive road-holding technology that’s helped Audi dominate the racetrack ever since 1980. Two decades and many evolutions later, it’s 2.5kg lighter, more compact and now features the brand new crown-gear centre differential – an addition which achieves high locking values for even greater traction.
High-performance braking system A car as powerful as the RS 5 Cabriolet needs an equally powerful system to slow it down. The high-performance braking system has black, high-gloss 8-piston fixed calipers in the front wheels and single-piston sliding calipers in the rear. The brake discs are internally ventilated, and perforated for enhanced performance.
