The Audi Q5 excels both on the road
and off it, thanks to its impressive all-
terrain abilities. And these attributes
are reinforced by special technologies,
such as hill descent assist, ABS with
automatic off-road detection and an
Electronic Stability Programme that
includes an off-road mode.
Hill descent assist
Available as standard in the Audi
Q5, hill descent assist automatically
maintains the speed set by the driver
on steep descents and on any surface
(up to 19mph). This makes negotiating
descents far more straightforward
and substantially enhances stability.
Hill descent assist is activated and
deactivated using a separate button.
ESP off-road mode
The Electronic Stability Programme
in the Audi Q5 features a special off-
road mode which can be controlled
by a switch. This reprograms the ESP
system, traction control and anti-lock
braking system to adapt them to the
driving conditions encountered in
off-road terrain, such as sand, gravel
or mud. This leads to good traction
in all conditions, a more exciting
drive and great handling even on
unpredictable surfaces.
