The human eye is one of the most sensitive
sensory organs. But even it can sometimes miss
something. For example, when it is dark or you
have been dazzled. We are doing our best to help
you in these situations. The optional night vision
assistant with marking of detected pedestrians
records the area in front of the vehicle using a
thermal imaging camera and highlights any
identified pedestrians located between approx.
15 and 90 metres away. Should the system
detect an imminent collision between the vehicle
and an identified pedestrian, then the colour of
the marking will change to red and a warning
tone will sound. In addition, the pedestrian is
illuminated with three brief headlight flashes by
use of the marking light.
The night vision assistant can be turned on or off
via a button on the rotary light switch. Marking,
warning signal and image contrast are configured
in the car menu.
