Everybody defines driving dynamics differently.
That is why we give you the opportunity to adapt
the car to your desires. With the standard Audi
drive select, you can influence individual vehicle
components at the push of a button and so
change the character of your Audi. Audi drive
select is what makes this possible.
You have five* modes to choose from: efficiency,
comfort, dynamic, auto and the “individual”
mode which allows you to determine yourself
how the associated vehicle components should
behave. The comfort mode is especially suitable
for providing the most relaxed driving possible
on long journeys. For particularly sporty driving,
for example on winding roads, there is the
dynamic mode. The auto mode provides the
balance between an agile and comfortable driving
style. The efficiency mode shifts the engine,
transmission, adaptive air suspension, climate
control and optional adaptive cruise control
into a consumption-optimised basic setting.
Audi drive select works like this: among other
things, the system influences the accelerator
characteristics, the adaptive air suspension, the
gear changing characteristics, the damper
regulation, the reversible seat belt tensioner and,
if fitted, the sport differential and dynamic
steering. The latter provides even more precise
steering with immediate feedback from the road.
With Audi drive select, the steering ratio curve
varies depending on the speed. That means in
dynamic mode the steering responds more
directly than, for example, in comfort mode.
Audi drive select can change even more driving
components: in the transmission, the engine
speeds at which the gear changes take place are
adjusted – in dynamic mode, gear change occurs
at higher engine speeds and in comfort mode
at lower ones. Damper regulation sees a change
in the level of damping forces, whilst with the
quattro with sport differential, the distributed
drive torque is varied.
