Audi Extended Warranty
can be ordered directly and exclusively when you
purchase a new vehicle; consistently continues the
manufacturer’s guarantee and thus offers lasting
protection against risk and service cost control even
beyond the first 2 years. 9combinations of service

Speed-dependent power steering
speed-dependent steering assistance; when parking,
the vehicle can be easily steered without effort;
at high speeds the steering system responds more
directly and precisely, increases vehicle agility and
responds more spontaneously to steering commands.

The electronically controlled sport differential
distributes variable amounts of driving force to each
wheel and ensures outstanding acceleration
performance in corners and stabilises the vehicle’s
response to load change; it also improves direct
steering characteristics and provides more agile
handling due to the lower steering effort required;
with S8-specific tuning for S8

Audi TDI clean diesel
In addition to the standard equipment with catalytic
converter and diesel particulate filter, the new exhaust
aftertreatment system installed in the model with TDI
clean diesel leads to low exhaust emissions. Nitrogen
oxides are reduced by the innovative nitrogen oxide
catalytic converter (DeNOx catalytic converter) at the
end of the exhaust pipe. A pump injects tiny quantities
of the biologically degradable additive AdBlue®². This
solution then decomposes in the hot exhaust flow to
form ammonia, which splits the nitrogen oxides into
nitrogen and water. This splitting is called selective
catalytic reduction (SCR). Refill the separate AdBlue
tank as indicated by the information in the display of
the instrument cluster. We recommend having the
AdBlue tank refilled by your Audi partner (about every
15,000 km).
Recuperation
increasing the generator voltage converts kinetic
energy into usable electrical energy when the vehicle is
coasting or braking. This brake energy recovery is
then used to assist the generator during subsequent
acceleration, saving up to 3 % fuel. During braking and
coasting, the electric motor of the A8 hybrid and
A8 L hybrid acts as a generator, converting the vehicle’s
kinetic energy into electric energy. This is then stored
in the lithium-ion battery and subsequently used to
operate the electric motor, as well as the car’s climate
control and general electrical equipment – improving
overall efficiency.
Start-stop system
helps to reduce fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions
by switching off the engine when the vehicle is
stationary, e.g. at traffic lights (in the case of the
A8 hybrid and A8 L hybrid also when recuperating or
during electric driving). The restart is initiated by
releasing the foot brake. Can be deactivated at any
time via a button
Active Noise Cancellation
The Active Noise Cancellation system can compensate
noises from individual frequencies depending on the
engine speeds.
