Assistance systems
Camera-based speed limit display
Recognition and display of speed limits, including
temporary speed limit displays (e.g. above motorways).
Additionally, within system limits, there is an evaluation
of the particular situation in wet conditions, and speed
limits displayed depending on the time of day, road
works and when using a trailer. If a sign has not been
recognised by the camera, thanks to Audi connect, the
speed limit displayed can be taken from the existing
navigation data.
Cruise control
maintains any speed above approx. 30 km/h, provided
that the engine power output and engine braking
effect permit it; automatic braking intervention,
e.g. when driving downhill; operated via separate
steering column stalk, set speed displayed in driver
information system; works between speeds of
30 and approx. 250 km/h
Hold assist
holds the vehicle stationary for unlimited periods
after stopping on normal uphill and normal downhill
gradients. The system is activated by push-button and
allows the driver to drive away easily and comfortably
without having to operate the electromechanical
parking brake.
Parking system plus
acoustic and visual parking system for the front and
rear with MMI display; measurement is by ultrasonic
sensors integrated discreetly in the bumpers; can
also be ordered with optional reversing camera or
360 degree camera
Reversing camera
image of area behind the vehicle shown on the
MMI display, with dynamic display modes showing
the calculated path (steer-angle dependent); includes
help lines and guidelines and identification of point
at which to apply opposite lock when parallel parking;
reversing camera integrated discreetly in the handle
strip of the luggage compartment lid
Night vision assistant with highlighting of
detected pedestrians
with integrated thermal imaging camera; when driving
at night, this system extends the driver’s range of
visibility beyond the light provided by the dipped
beam; records thermal images; an image processing
algorithm then evaluates the camera’s data and marks
any persons it has detected in yellow in the driver
information system’s colour display; the marking
changes to red and a warning tone is emitted if the
system, by analysing the movement and position of
the person it has detected, considers that there is a
possible risk. In combination with adaptive light
including headlight range control or LED headlights,
the person is also illuminated with 3 successive brief
flashes of the headlight. Image quality is affected
in poor ambient conditions
360 degree cameras
Cameras in the Singleframe, handle strip of the
luggage compartment lid and housing of the two
exterior mirrors help you when parking and
manoeuvring. The driver can select between different
image displays in the MMI display: view in front of the
vehicle, view behind the vehicle, side to the front or
side to the back (on the right- and left-hand side) for a
better view, e.g. when pulling out of narrow parking
spaces or courtyard entrances. In addition, a virtual
overhead view of the vehicle is calculated from the
data of the different cameras which can be particularly
helpful when manoeuvring. Reversing image with
switchable help lines for cross- and kerbside parking,
and for attaching trailers
