permanent all-wheel drive with self-locking centre
differential and torque distributed individually to each
wheel; distributes the driving forces depending on the
driving situation to each individual wheel for precisely
controlled handling
quattro® with sports differential
The electronically regulated sports differential
distributes variable amounts of driving force to each
rear wheel and ensures remarkable acceleration
performance in corners and stabilises the vehicle’s
response to load change; also improves direct steering
characteristics and provides more agile handling due
to the lower steering effort required.
Recuperation
A6: Increasing the generator voltage converts kinetic
energy into usable electrical energy when the vehicle is
coasting or braking. This energy is used to assist the
generator during subsequent acceleration, saving up
to 3 % fuel.
A6 hybrid: During braking and coasting, the electric
motor acts as a generator, converting the vehicle’s
kinetic energy into electric energy. This is then stored
in the lithium-ion battery. This energy is used to
operate the electric motor, and also the car’s climate
control and general electrical equipment, and in this
way distinctly improves overall efficiency.
Start-stop system
helps to reduce fuel consumption and CO
emissions
by switching off the engine in stationary phases, e.g.
at traffic lights. The starting process is initiated as
soon as the driver presses the clutch (manual
transmission) or releases the foot brake for the vehicle
to move off again. May be deactivated using a switch
at any time
Audi TDI clean diesel
In addition to the standard equipment with catalytic
converter and diesel particulate filter, the new exhaust
aftertreatment system installed in the model with TDI
clean diesel leads to low exhaust emissions. Nitrogen
oxides are reduced by the innovative nitrogen oxide
catalytic converter (DeNOx catalytic converter) at the
end of the exhaust pipe. A pump injects tiny quantities
of the biologically degradable additive AdBlue®*. This
solution then decomposes in the hot exhaust flow to
form ammonia, which splits the nitrogen oxides into
nitrogen and water. This splitting is called selective
catalytic reduction (SCR). Refill the separate AdBlue®
tank as indicated by the information in the display of
the instrument cluster. We recommend having the
AdBlue tank refilled by your Audi partner (about every
15,000km).
Active Noise Cancellation
the Active Noise Cancellation system can compensate
noises from individual frequencies depending on the
engine speeds.

car; is a consistent continuation of the manufacturer’s
guarantee so that you are protected against risk and
can control servicing costs even after the first 2 years.
