When the clutch is disengaged the PTL valve
opens and allows brake fluid to flow
unhindered into the slave cylinder.

Engaging
When the clutch is actuated and is engaging,
the valve is closed and the restriction bore in
the valve plate limits the return flow of fluid
into the master cylinder in the event of rapid
engagement. The engaging procedure is thus
damped, and torque peaks are prevented.
