• Pistons made of new, more heat-resistant
piston alloy to compensate for higher
thermal load.
• Altered shape of piston recess to optimise
combustion process.
• Compression ratio reduced to
18.5 : 1
by enlarging piston recess.
• Piston/conrod with trapezoidal head to
compensate for the higher combustion
pressure and to reduce the oscillating
mass by approx. 10% (see SSP 226,
Page 10).

• Crankcase housing with
additional vent outlet on the
front engine side to reduce oil
component in engine ventilation.
• Reduction of the air mix in the
engine oil via lateral baffles in
