60 Audi connect
The world is a network – and your Audi is part of
it. Audi connect not only brings the Internet into
your vehicle, it also exploits the possibilities that
your smartphone, tablet or laptop provide. In
future, Audi connect will also make it possible
to exchange data between the vehicles as well as
between vehicle and infrastructure. For even
more driving pleasure and comfort:
With Audi connect you can use the MMI to easily
search the Internet for special destinations, or
get the latest news and the current weather
forecast for your intended navigation destination.
Data is transferred via the UMTS module of the
Bluetooth car phone online,
which can be ordered as an option for the
MMI navigation plus.
Audi connect also offers you wireless Internet
access via a Wi-Fi hotspot. During the ride,
passengers can retrieve information and e-mails
or surf the Internet using their mobile device.
There is an application for Audi music stream¹
available for some smartphones. Detailed
information about availability, usage rights and
charges can be found in the equipment section or
obtained from your Audi partner.

Research project:
“Audi Urban Mobility”
How useful it can be to network a vehicle with its environment is demonstrated
by the research project “Audi Urban Mobility”. As part of this project, a vehicle was
created based on the Audi TTS. In September 2010, this vehicle managed to climb the
20-kilometre Pikes Peak road in the Rocky Mountains unaided and without a driver.
The project featured an electronics system that helps drivers to avoid hazardous
situations. We are applying this know-how to make continual improvements to
Audi connect. So that you are more and more connected, and your journeys safer.
