Our vehicles embody not only sportiness, progress
and technical innovations, but also the intelligent
use of resources.
One example: the TDI engines with common rail
technology. They provide highly efficient
combustion of the diesel fuel due to the
combination of direct injection and turbocharging.
The TFSI engines with the Audi valvelift system
(AVS) operate based on the same principle and are
equally impressive thanks to increased output and
torque with lower consumption. For years, Audi
engines have been consequently further
developed. This means that they are more
powerful today than ever – at a reduced weight,
thus reduced consumption. Impressive proof for
our strategy to gain more power from less
displacement. The start-stop system and
recuperation also provide for more efficiency.
The S tronic® dual-clutch transmission utilizes the
advantages of the high-torque engines of Audi
ideal: its large transmission-ratio spread allows
driving with high acceleration at very low engine
speeds. This reduces the fuel consumption.
The thermal management system, which provides
precision heat distribution between the engine,
the transmission, and the interior, shortens the
warm-up period and thereby reduces engine and
gear friction. The Audi drive select Modus
efficiency mode helps you to realize additional
saving potentials.
