§ Always disconnect the battery
ground strap if you must work n the o
fuel system or the electrical s stem. y
Never smoke or work near heaters or
other fire hazards if you must work
around fuel. Always keep an approved
fire extinguisher immediately avail-
able.
Be especially careful if engine is run-
ning:
§ If work must be done wi h the t
engine running, always fully the set
parking brake, and make sure the shift
lever is In Neutral.
§ Always be alert and extre ca-mely
utious around the engine at alt times
particularly when the engine is run-
ning.
§ Always exercise extreme caution
t long o prevent neckties, jewelry, hair
or loose clothing from getting caught
in the fan blades, the V-belts, or any
other moving engine parts.
§ To avoid electrical shock and
personal injury never touch ignition
cables or components of the high vol-
tage electronic ignition system while
the engine is running or even when
starter is cranked
