2 Installing the Celerity FC host

adapter

This chapter describes installation of the Celerity FC host adapter and host system setup and conﬁguration.

Setting up the host sy stem

To set up the host system:

1. Install the C

elerity FC host adapter using the procedure provided by ATTO Technology. For more

2. Install the Celerity FC host adapter 3.10M P driver osx_drv_celerity_310MP.dmg.dz,available

on the

ATTO Technology website: h

ttp://www.attotech.com/hp.

3. Reboot the

host.

4. Install the ATTO Conﬁguration Tool 3.13 driver osx_app_configtool_313.dmg.dz,available

on the

ATTO Technology website: h

ttp://www.attotech.com/hp.

NOTE:

During ATTO Conﬁgura tion Tool installation, select App lication Only when prompted.

5. Start the ATT O Conﬁguration Tool from the Applications folder.

6. For each host adapter channel:

• Set Device Discovery to Port WWN.

• Set Connection Mode to Point-to-Point.

• Commit changes.

7. Connect the Fibre Channel cables from the host adapter ports to the Fibre Channel switch.

8. Reboot the host.

Conﬁguring Fibre Channel zoning

Single-path connectivity

To conﬁgure zoning on B-Series switches for single-path connectivity:

1. Create azonethatcontains:

• The host adapter port WW PN

•An EVA port WWPN

2. Add the zone to the switch conﬁguration.

3. Re-enable the switch conﬁ guration to add the zone to the fabric’s effective conﬁguration.

Table 4 provides sample values for a single host zone.
