Flame Premium Installation and Config-
uration
Prerequisties for installation
■ Root access to your system. The default root account password on an Autodesk workstation is password.
■ If you need to change your system date or time, do it before installing the application.
■ Archiving existing media on the framestore is recommended.
■ Prepare the installation media (page 31) to access the install directory.
Software upgrade only
To upgrade the software without updating the hardware or OS:
1 Install the DKU and the AJA OEM-2K firmware (page 22).
2 Install Creative Finishing software (page 30). These instructions also apply for Flame, Flare, Smoke Advanced, Lustre,
Inferno, Flint, and Backdraft Conform
3 License your software. If you are not on subscription use Node-locked licensing (page 55). On subscription you can
use node-locked or Network licensing (page 56). Unnecessary if upgrading to a service pack of the same software
version or to a service pack of the same extension.
Install from scratch or upgrade Linux
To reinstall or upgrade the operating system and/or change your hardware or storage setup:
1 If you are installing your hardware make the following connections:
■ Peripherals such as mouse, keyboard, pen tablet, graphics monitor, house network.
■ Autodesk Wire network.
■ VTR and a broadcast monitor.
■ Audio hardware for your workstation.
■ Storage arrays to the workstation, but do not power them on before having installed Linux, to prevent the Linux
installer from attempting to format the arrays and use them as system drives.
2 Configure BIOS (page 17).
3 Install Linux (page 20).
4 Install the DKU and the AJA OEM-2K firmware (page 22)
